“If a man has an apartment stacked to the ceiling with newspapers we call him crazy. If a woman has a trailer house full of cats we call her nuts. But when people pathologically hoard so much cash that they impoverish the entire nation, we put them on the cover of Fortune magazine and pretend that they are role models.”

Science Fiction: All My Aliens - Sci-Fi Soap Opera #111

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon
Alienlove.com Editor

“Alright, Griff,” Joe announced, “time to start talking ‘turkey,’ so to speak! I want to know exactly what your plans are for my planet, what part I can choose to play, how you are going to protect my daughter and grandson from the Examinators. And that, my alien friend, is just for beginners! In addition, I think you need me and people like me. My farm is a great place for a few agents to stay and operate, but by my way of thinking, you’re probably gonna need a whole lot more! I do have a network of friends...”

Grrphh looked a little startled by the Earthman’s vehemence, but then nodded in acknowledgement. Joe was absolutely correct. “Well now, since you ask... In fact, why don’t you come with me – there are a few things I can show you that may make things a little clearer. And perhaps some training will be approved for you before you leave. We shall see, I suppose it will be up to Bard, Glaboo and that lot – but nothing says we can’t get in a bit of a head start!”

Naturally, Bard, Bird, and the O&N staff were listening and watching this exchange ...

All My Aliens - Sci-Fi Soap Opera #110

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon

Dave tried to reassure Barbara: “Don’t worry, however, it turns out, you are all considered heroes – either they will be returned to Earth not remembering their 'vacation', or they will be made agents, or perhaps official contacts... I’m not even sure which you are hoping for!”

Barbara sighed, “I am not sure what to hope for either – I sure wouldn’t want my memories erased! On the other hand, having the memories and knowledge of what is going on puts them all in danger. I guess I can only hope for the best, whatever that might be. I do trust Bard though, and Bird seems much like him.”

They had been shown to a smallish waiting area – it contained an eating area, a viewscreen, some currently popular time-passing games, as well as a number of things whose purpose Barbara was unsure. After picking at a snack Dave had ordered, and sighing several times, Barbara asked, “Do you think they will be long?” ...

All My Aliens - Sci-Fi Soap Opera #109

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon

The group stopped abruptly, eyeing the approaching alien with fear and suspicion. Although Barbara knew the being was not Gartan and that other of his species were agents on the ship, even she was taken aback.

Her father seemed close to pounding on the pterodactyl-like being in an effort to protect his family, when Tilly darted between them to act as a mediator.

The being from the planet Bhruta, was clearly annoyed and touchy about being mistaken for the traitor, Gartan, but Tilly jumped in with “Begging your pardon agent, but they have recently had a very bad experience with one of your kind, no reflection on you, of course, please let me introduce you! These are Earthlings – the ones we are here to help. This is Barbara, the very first Earth O&N agent, this is her son, Al, and her parents, Amy and Joe, to whom we have just made ourselves known.” Barbara and her parents murmured apologies, while Al went up to the stranger and said, “Real sorry to have hurt your feelings, you just scared us a bit, that’s all.” ...

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon

Shortly after Peliix was corralled by his Instructor, Glaboo paid a visit to Bard and Bird. Truly, any rest and recuperation seemed almost impossible for them to find on the ship. It seemed that almost everyone felt the need to report in to them or obtain their advice.

“I’m so sorry to intrude upon your recuperation father and aunt,” Glaboo began, “but we are going to have to make a decision about what to do with Barbara’s family soon. Is it safe to send them back to Earth at all? And if so, do we wipe their memories? Many feel that they have seen way too much for non-agents. At the same time, I don’t feel quite right about the memory-wipe option – they have all helped and cooperated in every way, leaving me somewhat torn about the issue. In addition, there is the substantial period of time needing to be erased – making the procedure quite a bit less effective and allowing for some unpleasant side-effects, as we all are quite aware.” ...

Peliix put on what he felt was his most engaging smile, and answered Bard. “Well, surely, a great Eldestan like you could use an assistant! Truly, give me a little training, and you will be amazed at the results. I would swear my allegiance to you forever – well, at least for as long as I live!”

Bard nodded, “Well, I suppose with enough training it might be possible. What assurances do I have that you will not be spying for your former masters, the Examinators?”

“Spy for them? You must be kidding! I hope I never see another Examinator in my life. They were cruel masters, unlike the honored Eldestan!” Peliix bowed to Bard and Bird. “Really I should have known better, quite a few tried to tell me. I found out for myself that they care nothing for their minions, and turned on us at the slightest excuse. I’d rather be dead than go back to them. I give you my word and my pledge!” ...

All My Aliens - Sci-Fi Soap Opera #106

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon
Alienlove.com Editor

Bard and Bird listened in horror as Song described what had been learned about Jonglire’s travels – in fact, medical personnel came rushing in when the room monitors indicated unhealthy changes in bodily functions, such as breathing and heart rates. Bard quickly waved the attendants away, despite their wish to check his status more thoroughly. Few argued with Eldestan.

**********

The agents Glaboo had sent to Earth to help cover-up the battle between O&N and the Examinators were amazed when they awoke to several inches of snow and more to come. They hoped it might help in their efforts to cover any oddities or signs that might have been left behind. Bard, Glaboo and Bird had expended a lot of energy in the clean-up, but they were rushed and already tired – not the best of circumstances. Humans on a mission could be very persistent, and the two men who’d had close to a day erased from their minds, were the curious kind. UFO enthusiasts were arriving in large number, and hypnotists were lining up to take their turn in trying to recover the lost memories. Luckily for the hypnotists, the men in question were rather well-to-do, and had no problem hiring and firing one after another, when results were not produced. It was a rather unassuming young woman who finally had some apparent success...

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon

Song had returned to the ship with news. Though not much time had passed, there had already been some progress in tracking back Jonglire’s travels over the years he was missing. Thus far, what had been discovered was not good. Apparently he had traveled very far indeed – into the proscribed region, where even Eldestan did not tread. None of the 1,000 World Federation members had the ability to reach the far-flung galaxy, few had ever heard of it, or so it had been thought.

************

“Can we all go exploring, Mom? That would be so fantastic!” Al exclaimed. Grandpa Joe was quick to speak up about his desire to see more of the ship as well.

“Suli and I will be glad to be your guides,” Tilly told them. “That’s why Bard sent for us! I’ve heard he and his sister, Bird, expended most of their energy and need some time to rest. Guess things got pretty awful! But we should try not to think about that now, you all had quite a stressful and dangerous experience too. Time for some fun, right? There are so many things to do on the ship!” ...

Grrphh all but growled at the two Qwetzles before sending them on to the suite they were to share with the humans, who were making an unexpected visit to the O&N mothership. Their Team Leader hurried away, glad to have a few moments to himself after the tumultuous events of the past couple days. He planned on talking his time before returning, as he completed a few errands around the ship.

Although Grrphh had been none too welcoming, Al was overjoyed when his two alien friends entered the main room of the shared quarters.

“You’re here too? Wow, that’s great! Now we can have some fun!” Al exclaimed upon seeing Tilly and Suli. While the Qwetzles were certainly not children, they were very light-spirited, energetic and fun. Being child-sized made them seem like children even into their elder years – though these two, in actuality, were barely into adulthood...

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon

Shadow and Silver rejoined the group quickly after giving their warning - there was no more time for discussion. Before Barbara even turned to speak to her parents, one of Glaboo’s agents, waiting on stand-by, acted. Time, place, and sensation blurred strangely for a moment, then they were all somewhere else.

Al screeched in joyous delight as he realized what had happened. Joe and Amy’s gasps of surprise followed. Barbara gathered her family together to explain what was going on, “I know this is rather unexpected - perhaps even shocking, but we’re safe here on O&N's Mothership, at least as safe as we can be anywhere. Everyone can rest and heal for a few days. Undoubtedly we will not be returning to the vacation house, our disappearance will hopefully allow things to settle down a bit near the lake. Are you guys gonna be okay with this? There really weren’t many other choices.”

Al responded first, “Why it’s just great, Mom! When can we start looking around? Will they let us remember it?” ...

“Hey!” Peliix cried out, “Stop that! You got me, okay? I’m awake, just please stop tickling me! “

Al grabbed hold of the small alien around the waist and called out, “He’s awake, Grrphh, what do I do with him now?” Then turning to look at the alien, said, “Now, don’t you try nothing funny, you! It’s my job to watch you, and not let you get in any trouble, you hear me?”

Peliix laughed, “Don’t worry, I’m not gonna run away or nothing, the Examinators would just catch me, then I’d sure be sorry. But please don’t squeeze me so hard!”

“Oh sorry,” Al replied, “I just wanted to do a good job. Are you dangerous?”

Grrphh arrived in time to answer, “Well not so much dangerous, Al, but definitely mischievous at the very least. But I think this one has had his fill of trouble for a while. Have you not, small one?”

The conversation was interrupted by a loud, deeply resonating ‘boom’ - a sound that felt like it had no rightful place on Earth...

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon

“You must be kidding?” Barbara asked, “I thought the Examinators had been pretty much driven out of this world and most of the 1,000 World Federation! How can there still be so many here?”

The others looked at Bard, several thinking the same thing. He was slow to respond, but finally answered Barbara’s question, “I am very sorry, we did think their operations had been pretty much halted. None realized their intense interest in Earth, and just how many of their agents had already placed here.”

“So, we must hurry,” Bard continued, “Glaboo and Bird, I will need your help. I am too weak to attempt this on my own, I know you are both exhausted as well, but perhaps together, we can manage it. Will you join with me?” ...

All My Aliens - Sci-Fi Soap Opera #100

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon
AlienLove.com Editor

The horses reared upon reaching the recently disturbed earth beside the lake. The men riding them could see that something had gone on here, but were not sure why their mounts were so upset. When the horses refused to calm, they rode them back in the direction they had come and tied them up far enough away from the disturbance that they no longer seemed nervous. The two men then began walking back.

Their arrival had not gone unnoticed, Glaboo knew that they could not be allowed to discover more... so she reluctantly sent off several of the recently arrived reinforcements to follow them. The humans did not get far from their horses before the O&N agents, not all having used Quick Morph and thus not looking human, came upon them. Their shock at finding aliens approaching them was intense – one yelled in fear, they both tried to run, but collapsed on the beach, unconscious, within a few steps...

“I understand your protective feelings towards Barbara and Al,” Glaboo told Joe and Amy, “we are doing everything we can to keep them safe. We can remove any or all of you from Earth, and tuck you away for a few decades on a distant planet until things calm down, or permanently for that matter. If that is what you wish, I can almost guarantee your complete safety.”

The adults were momentarily stunned by the thought, let alone the real possibility, of using such an option. Al however, was not so reticent, “We could live on another planet – far, far, away? Wow! That sounds like a fantastic science fiction movie, but this would be for real wouldn’t it?”

“Don’t you think that would be pretty great, Grampa? We could be like pioneers from Earth or something! We’d be famous! Well, maybe not famous, I guess no one but us would know. Would we ride in the invisible space ship, do you think? That would be sooo cool!” ...

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon

The Examinators were closing in, Glaboo asked the O&N agents to cover her for as long as possible, while she tried handle this. Barbara and her family watched in horror, as first Silver and then Dave went down, injured. Grrphh was holding his arm, then two of the agents Glaboo had brought, dropped suddenly to the ground. Hope became harder and harder to entertain.

Al begged to go out and help them. Barbara and her parents couldn’t keep those thoughts out of their minds either, but realized there was little they could do but get injured or worse.

Bard was getting closer to Earth, and was more aware than he wanted to be of what was going on, considering he could not yet offer any help in the situation. He was gradually re-gaining energy, but still felt more drained than he ever had in his very long life.

Then without warning, every being within the ship’s viewscreen collapsed, except Glaboo, who stood swaying...

All My Aliens - Sci-Fi Soap Opera #97

Serial StoryBy Blue1Moon
AlienLove.com Editor

A shiver of fear raced through Barbara’s body as she heard the approaching helicopters, the sound of speedboats had already been heard coming their way. Her family and alien friends seemed in no way prepared for such an onslaught. Mostly she worried about Al and her parents, though Joe and Amy seemed to be taking the situation in stride, at least as much as was possible considering the circumstances.

Barbara held Al close, to his great annoyance, and Dave came over and put his arm around her. Everyone heard the helicopters land – or rather the cut off of their engines. Within moments, Shadow, Silver and Peanut set-up a fearful amount of growling, neighing and howling – while it sounded menacing, it was nerve-wracking even for their friends.

Movement was spotted in the woods between them and the lake, and forms were soon discernable. Several had the appearance of being human, and two were obviously alien, but three wolves led the charge.

Al struggled to see, while Barbara tried to push him down behind the invisible ship. Shadow and Peanut immediately raced forward to meet the wolves, Joe managed to get off a shot that took out one of the three...
